The Light Archive was founded by Shan He — artist, curator, therapeutic photography practitioner, and researcher at EPÆG, University of Bamberg.

The archive operates at the intersection of three commitments: academic research into how people relate to images they have made themselves; the exhibition and documentation of photographic and artistic work; and the building of a living archive that preserves the emotional and creative experiences of individuals across time and culture.

It is a space where research, art, and memory meet. We welcome artists, researchers, and anyone who has been changed by making or witnessing images.
